El Tarter has some good après ski on offer. In addition to the dining and drinking outlets that can be found throughout the town, there are a number of sports activities available which is ideal for those who do want to practise sport but want to have a bit of a break from skiing. Alternative sports facilities include an artificial ice rink, paragliding, heli-skiing, a sports centre and indoor swimming pools.
Although El Tarter is not as famous when it comes to nightlife as the nearby Soldeu, it still has some excellent bars and one nightclub on offer. In many of the bars and cafés you will find specialties such as the popular tapas on the menu which make a great snack in the afternoons. Those who are looking for a restaurant to have a proper meal will also not be disappointed as you will find more than 20 different venues in the town. Cuisine here ranges from regional to international with some restaurants offering Mexican and Indian food.
Another way of spending time in the resort of El Tarter is to go shopping. There are numerous shops located in the town and its surroundings, offering excellent duty free products such as jewellery, electronics, alcoholic beverages and of course cigarettes. Supermarkets can also be found here and provide not only regional but also international goods.
The town of Soldeu is well worth a visit if you want to enjoy a livelier clubbing scene. If you are visiting the resort with your entire family, but also do want to spend some time alone with your partner, you can take advantage of the child care service that is offered.
